What a beautiful story:
At a METALLICA concert in the Brazilian city of Curitiba last Saturday, a woman gave birth to her baby in the stadium while the band was playing 'Enter Sandman'.

Last Saturday, May 7, tattoo artist Joice M. Figueiró gave birth to her son Luan during a METALLICA concert at Estádio Couto Pereira in the Brazilian metropolis of Curitiba. The band is currently on the road in South America as part of a six-concert tour. The woman was 39 weeks pregnant at the time of the concert and stated that she still felt fine during the performances of support bands EGO KILL TALENT and GRETA VAN FLEET.

During the METALLICA show, however, she went into labor, so there was no time to get the expectant mother to a hospital in time. Thus, little Luan was born in the outpatient clinic of Estádio Couto Pereira, as Joice M. Figueiró wrote on her Instagram account:

"Luan Figueiró came into the world at 11:15 pm on May 7, 2022 and shook all metal structures. Every concert I go to, something has to happen, but I think this time I outdid myself."

According to the young mother, at the time of the birth METALLICA was playing the last song 'Enter Sandman' of their set in Curitiba. She herself is physically fine, however, she still has to process what happened.

My song of the week is É Tão Cafona O Que Eu Sinto Por Você by Brazilian band Bazar Pamplona. Came across this one because of a movie. I like to listen to Portuguese language, although i don't understand a word. But it's such a beautiful sounding language.
Portuguese and Swedish are my all time favs.

to repair uneasy relations after visa controversy and near war (relating to last post of mine) instead adding line in "translations"..... btw, looked at wikipedia article on Sinaloa/Chapo's cartel and guess who is noted twice in box on the right side as "allies" :) ....probably unintended error but must be very important if mentioned twice, but that's just local branch of people born in Mexico in last cenury immigrants, not our..... if article creators put it 3 times, maybe someone notices.... )

nice music, almost everybody knows or likes due to music or voice, or both :yes ...really wish you minimalise effects of crime to local communities and village people above all... visa thing is funny and illogical so i had to mention you, Mexico, in other thread, nothing personal.... great country, i'd only make you greater, by expanding north :)

not so musical and posted since thread was on top, got idea for fun.... nicely played, like that brand of yours even though no "senoritas" in video...)

Frequent are long and intense arguments about what are the boundaries of Portuguese, the language.
Some, on both sides of the Atlantic consider Portuguese and Brazilian as separate entities.
Normally, those are positions taken more out of personal negative experiences...
For starters the matter isn't even limited to Portugal and Brazil.
There are various other places where Portuguese also picked local flavour.
In the African ex colonies, besides local Portuguese there are creoles, which makes things more complicated.
And there's Imdia, China and East Timor.
Even inside Portugal we have intense regionalisms and Mirandés, which is now a second official language.
It's like with any other language that gets spread wide; it picks up local elements.

Like "cafona", which doesn't make part of the lexicon of Portuguese naturals.
We'd probably say "foleiro".
"It's so corny what I feel for you" is an approximate translation of the title.

Speaking of creoles there is a "morna", a sort of ballad genre from Cabo Verde Archipelago in "Underground"'s soundtrack although sung as a tango.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abvgaDG2Fl0
Ausência - by the late Cesária Évora
(I can understand some words, but not a single phrase)

Mirandese song about a female wolf.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXIt6Aco79w
Galandum Galumdaina - La Lhoba Parda
(Mirandese is a mix of Portuguese, Castilian and Arabic elements)

Popular song from the Açores Archipelago.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLCoVYFiNoE
Brigada Vítor Jara - Pézinho da Vila.
(In Açores and Madeira there is also a very distinctive way of talking the language and some people are very hard to understand by "continentals")

Angola usually means things get livelier.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhwVekYE4-I
Bonga - Mulemba Xangola
(More creole, that is another one)

Moçambique
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0AV5-7FHfA
Rnoque Salomão - Tchi
(Yet another creole; "tchi" means money; actually these days they lean more on English than Portuguese there)

Where am I going, people have to go make useful things...
Let me finish the post with a "fado" standard by jazz singer Maria João, with Aki Takase from Japan on piano.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YABotfdE3pg
Estranha Forma de Vida
(This one became famous by the voice of Amália Rodrigues, most famous "fado" singer ever; means "Strange form of life" but I think its unrelated with sci-fi, hopefully...

Thank you for the music :howdy While the songs are all very different i enjoyed all of them.

Speaking about dialects, i'm from central/northern Germany and i worked 1.5 years in the very south (could ride with the roadbike to Lake Constance) and when the locals started to talk in their dialect "Schwäbisch" i could hardly understand anything.

I've got that idea of Germany with a North - South divide.
First time I heard of that I think it was in my Gymnasium Deutsch stunde.

Now consider Angola.
With a big area - for European standards - they have 14 languages and a mountain load of local dialects.
The language of the former colonizers ends up being the best tool they have to keep the whole thing glued.
In Moçambique, where Portuguese teaching was less efficient nowadays English is replacing Portuguese in that role.

More Pt sound:

From Brazil, Bossa Nova genre pioneer, the late João Gilberto.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vMKlGFCGTJQ
An hour and some of cool ballads including my favorite "Desafinado" and the international hit "Garota de Ipanema"/"Girl from Ipanema.
Quite long away from "samba" genre...

From Cabo Verde, Celina Pereira, the diva of the "morna" genre, after the departure of Cesária Évora, sings the standard "Força di Cretchéu" (Force of Love).
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poMExlMbRMk

From Guinea-Bissau, Binhan (feat. Monika Seka) with "Guiné Nha Terra". (Guinea my Land)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cZqFy3ubQe0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ilRa4hpfHc
hcoustic version with a different "senorita".

From East Timor, Isabel Tello Mexia sings "Kalan Kalan"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CjzxueABNk
"CPLP" - Comunidade dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (Community of Countries of Portuguese Language)

Back to continental Portugal let's fetch our Jewish heritage band Melech Mechaya who already played alongside the likes of Woody Allen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xpn7dqQy66A
Melech Mechaya - Gente Estranha (Strange People)
Story of a marriage party that goes out of joint when someone burns a bag a dealer of stuff had left behind...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roXlhCLycqk
Ornatos Violeta - Dia Mau (Bad Day)
Very original band. Very elaborate lyrics. I think currently they perform rarely in reunions of sorts.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-11NTQm5m0
Mão Morta - Lisboa
Completely anternative. Posted a TV concert here a while ago.

To finish this 2nd volume the humouristic duo Cebola Mol sings the tremendous hit "Os meus irmões baterem-me" (Me bruthers het mi)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYs_5Wu2Pqs
Many Portuguese speakers have difficulty in stop laughing from listening this pair of blokes...

Some parts are slightly strange but I wouldn't say the text is completely nonsensical.
They say it's taken from a poem and it actually vaguely reminds me of Chico Buarque's "Construção":
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBfVsucRe1w
(The poem itself is a sort of construction made of blocks he keeps on changing the order of...)

And now the 1980 album that re launched rock in Portugal, Rui Veloso's "Ar de Rock":

Since i don't speak any Portuguese i was relying on what the singer said:
"It doesn't matter whether or not you can understand Portuguese. The point of "Drinkee" isn't the meaning; the point is the nonsense."
I think it's about the synthesis of the arts. Also with that "drum instrument".
Anyway, since i am not bound to any specific type of music i can really enjoy their sound :yes

Saying something like "I drink, I get dizzy" seems to make sense...
The earlier part is just slightly stranger.
Some could argue against a song about drinking but it's actually a classic theme.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkgX8PUA3F8
Carl Orff - Carmina Burana, 14. In taberna quando sumus
But if one's game is nonsensical drinking here's classical (in English):
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BPPtrqvHGEg
Tom Waits - The piano has been drinking

"Synthesis of the arts" brings us close to the great debate of where is the art / non art frontier.
Current trend seems to be, pretty much, everything is art.
But I'm a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R64NQnWyz_g
King Crimson - Dinosaur
So, to me, "everything is art" sounds a lot like "nothing is art".
Therefore, I use the designation "entertainment" as a counterpart of art.
And both things have their place, their use, their importance.

More nonsense in mega fast Portuguese:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3WcyBGFTv4
Cebola Mol - Queixadas de Sintra (a pun with the delicious Queijadas de Sintra https://www.nit.pt/comida/as-queijadas- ... s-do-sodre
Speaking of Lisbon, many a song was written about, but here's one I can call lyrical.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uez8bWKZSvI
Trovante - Lisboa

I was simply looking for a translation of the german word "Gesamtkunstwerk" and i meant that their music, movements and aesthetics add up to what they want to be as Sofi Tukker. I didn't want to spark a discussion :lol
I never drink and i can hear a song about drinking without beeing traumatized. It doesn't matter :lol

Right, joint arts of sorts.
That is much a trend these days. but it actually dates back long ago.
Apparently music often made part of Greek theatre in the times of Ancient General.
Then, opera was another go at a similar idea.
Nowadays there are new techs and new attempts at merging things.

The "discussion" about art was me taking the opportunity to "sell my fish"...

You never drink?
You just went up in my chart.
But you know, traumatization doesn't come from one drinking; it comes from someone very close drinking.
Well, one who drinks also self inflicts but doesn't take notice of that."The piano has been drinking, not me"

...so today we "mark" Vitus day... wasn't able to visit Kosovo this year, due to fear not to be arrested :) just joking.... my medieval days are mostly over on this forum gave a lot of info, but for lovers of medieval music and tunes decided it is good addition to post this tune, maybe not so known like some catholic chants and things like Polish "bogorodica", Russian songs (from Ukraine)) chant etc. among experts so i add... allegedly song that was sung by Serbian troops and knights before the Kosovo battle on the day 1389, so historical or semi-one.... do not care about film and (poem) story in film, full of wrong equipment (except maybe Vuk's plate armor) and representations, avoidable as film and we will still wait for good film from our history to win few Oscars and make 100s of mills in US ;) Black knights story is candidate, Dux empire, Vukašin or king Milutin, Palman stories are good candidates if skillfully directed ;

due to Julian calendar being used in Europe of the time, not sure is there mixup with later dates, as it was 28th for all then ; ... also, Turk woman ("expert") told that Ottomans changed their flag exactly after this battle, so also representation of Turk banner in film might be wrong if her story is right etc etc... in newer history it is day we killed Austrian and after Franz's war and terror (including bombing of Belgrade by 305 mm howitzers in long period)) we brought freedom to Europe and many new countries (sadly)) :banana .... have fun, hope you like chant and historical song, enjoy...

...no music in this post, but as most of my posts are like lessons to add to this... if you know anything about the story and epic poetry, funniest part about us Serbs is that maybe (there is no consensus and we are democratic as ever so everyone to own opinion) greatest hero of one iconic battle, one who certainly broke Ottoman flank in front of himslef and ruined their camp i.e. supplies, was considered as "iconic, symbolic" traitor :) Vuk, badass fighter at Kosovo by my investigation :yes his "sin" was that he was most significant noble to survive (on Moravian-Serb side as Bosnian noble also survived) and he was one of the richest in folks eyes (due to mines in possesion).... but anyone thinking he left battle too early, as "traitor" has own right to think so....;

in global sense, film shows some military interesting things like (if you didn't know) by theory that modern global military salute is maybe based on European knight practice to move helmet vizir to show face (like in our film) AND that move by hand maybe you noticed in Scott's "gladiator" by Crowe as Roman general after battle and elsewhere as sign of victory but also as "all clear" army signal... have fun, film is below average but we have stories for you.... :)

...not substitute for "translations" but want to tell this story :) as part of the previous story...

did you know that Vuk's father Branko's "belt" (part of ceremonial clothing) is kept in British museum, London. Hidden and well guarded in dungeons, never on display due to being to precious, most important part of their collection guarded by never moving guards :) On first sight looks like "džidža-bidža" from flea market but is made out of golden and silver elements... not to be mistake name Branko is there :yes ...nice story, guard it well until you return it to legal owners - anyone stealing them from BM and returning it to Serbia is my hero :) ...considering that most of our historical treasures and regal/nobility symbols are stolen, who knows where, including England, or lost forever - it is not impossible that queen Victoria and her contemporaries indeed based some of their myths on our rulers and medieval nobility, in indirect way ;

not bad idea for film as well, maybe Serbo-Sexon coproduction - mafia boss (called "Bad Wolf") heard a story about Branko's belt giving some mythical, unhuman powers to its wearer and action is organized to steal it from British dungeon, against MI5 agents and Royal guards, lots of action, car chases etc... in the finale Branko (known as badass noble in Dušan's inner circle of badasses) is brought back to life in the middle of London and then blah blah :) Brits are to provide "blondes" for the film ) ... truly nice story, other peieces are in Hermitage etc.

here's you music for the story, really couldn't think anything better, sorry if repeat, but won't post much and like this for my films )

...studied and observed London's fragment of Branko's belt in detail... except historical significance and as treasure, for us it is merely interesting (as everything about man) as a way to get eventual info about ties of man, family and our then ruling family, as "minor" or side branch... in theory and story way, it is suspected that Branko is descendant of Vukan - son of Nemanja whose "primogeniture right" wasn't respected before "civil war" and before his brother married Ana Dandolo etc. which proved to be profitable move after all.... as Vukan's wife was also as chance from "respectable" patrician family of Latium in Italy it would make Branko, Vuk and George "Golden fork" B. descendants of Caesar and Roman emperors :) It has no direct consequence in modern world except our rightful claim to rule over France again :) .... most seriously, it is interesting question in Serbian historiography at least, with some interesting "what ifs" and more "respect" towards Branković family and why Stefan L. ordered as last wish George B. to be undobtful successor, family was also allegedly among "richest of all Europe" from contemporary foreign sources, things like that... so in short significant person and maybe Dušan's side-branch relative...

what i found is that, beside things visible even to total laics like that "BRA-" was written in cyrilic letters and "-NCO" clearly in latin letters as some message maybe... it has helmet with roaring lion (maybe Branko wore it) also "imperial animalistic symbol" .... but also traditional Roman wolf headed animal.... with body of a snake?!!.... and tail of a fish?!.... :lol nonetheless, maybe won't solve his puzzle but is precious and interesting piece of our imperial gear :yes ..... must say if even 50% of depctions and descriptions of some headgear, armor by our late nobility is true and they actually did wear it - it makes it one of more fantastic looking and "fashionable" nobility in "fantastic" Europe.... thumbs up for imaginative aspect to us, only indicated in "raped" sources that left....

that's finished as subject - our regalia being in London, Peterburg, Rome etc. is nice and good material for crime-movies, but normally would like all to be home... as music, yes it was repeat I rememeber i whined about "too political Italians" as particular video was removed but it is back year later, maybe some rights issue... nice video by some Italian clandestine organisation (with aim to rule the world)) ... over as longer stories here, but always for fans of some old times...(mostly Mexican) feel free to join...

Two very different issues:

Primo - One more "musicated" epic battle.
https://panzergeneralx.proboards.com/th ... f-totem-hu

Secundo - A cover, by "Bizarra Locomotiva".
They are a Portuguese band often labeled as "Industrial Metal".
In fact, to me, some of their music sounds very much as "Nine Inch Nails". Some, not all.
I already posted a 4 track sample of them at Parabellum's Metal topic.
There are various complete albums available on "youtube".
This one has the original lyrics translated to Portuguese.
I took a few seconds to get what it was but my handicap on this one is very near zero.
Who knows what the original is?...

...so Bombast and me will make some "summer content" for the pub, as of now but i'll disappear later ;)

to add to our imperial and kingdom insignia, CoA, banners etc, subject - always mind that XIV century, hence empire time was time of our "clash" and cold-warm relations with Avignon so there is chance that some of symbolism and depictions are some sort of "joke or provocation" aimed at Avignon or French rulers generally, so maybe some hidden messages and humor inthere... already talked it in "translations" and mentioned (our late) doctor Eco as possibly studying our nobility and monument to find some traces.... there are rosettes (Brown would like it)), wolf heads and "free Templars" chants around :lol

important warning if something is not clear and you ever find some of our artifact anywhere, they are everywhere, mantioned museum near Madrid etc. Hidden messages possible... anyway, as some more summer humor and things like that on subjects - had interesting semi-humoristic, semi-philosophical conversations with Italians through decades, more or less important sometimes just short like Bombast and me in "trans" etc. As i said giving some respect to Italians and Greeks is alright - all in historical sense as today they are just "trash" like us :) - and if i'm to make film would without doubt give special care to characters of Greek and Italian origin in our story or service :yes ...also, i think i said that it flatters that members of such historical tribes/nations joined our ranks and (as some sentence) "copied our nobility" in some instances.... Italians are not only important in historical way and our "empire building" but also in newer history and as last influence it was chosen that Belgrade national parliament will - unlike Greek, Bulgarian, Hungarian for example - follow Roman matrix to the fullest in architectural way etc etc (first horse statue was made by Italian, things like that)

among other comical-philosophical things in contacts with Italians I remembered funny line by one of them - in historical cut and different types of nationalisms in Europe, your (Serbian) nationalism is "imperial" in substance and you have flag with eagle which makes you acceptable :lol that's all humor, but there is some philosophy, no drama nor man is "fascist"... so a little further homage to Italians through their work, to our "ex-pals" or as we call them xxxxxx due to total mix-up with French :) they desrve some prise... it is indicative that Italian ex-comics were only very popular in Yugosarmatia, Belgrade being one of the centers... watched clip with Franco Nero talking to Italian TV recently, few weeks ago, and he didn't miss to mention how he played "Serb medieval hero" (he called it "Yugosarmo hero") in one film even though nobody asked him... respect :yes .... if we didn't take so many Italian wifes we would not have such glorious nobility after all .... :lol have fun.

...so it is sad what they, such historical tribe, had to endure through centuries and all the prejudices... none is our fault and even when we were strongest we offered half of Constantinople to Italians, things like that :) ....however, while i can respect that hard historical turn of luck - have no illussions that as long as i live i'll stop making mafia jokes and they are PC :)

to the other side now, as said not so musical nor I follow modern trends nor finding something unknown, this one i like... sadly only such resolution available online. "Vaske" did phenomenal job on acting part - hand gesticualtion at 0:45 is genial and exactly how i imagine some Greek loyalist noble talking to Oliver, Syrgiannes or Kantakouzenos (all 3 worked for us, first two our noble, Greek general in our service "shortly" before "vendetta" and death and third just as temporar deal and later enemy)... maybe Greek noble would talk and gesticulate like that even to Dušan, despite he being some half meter taller :) ...would be great film, never understood how our filmmakers never exploited such subject we had once with so many foreigners and characters in our empire, dark atmosphere and nice action and possible memorable conversations and mentalities, if directed in serious and psychological way.... Oscar material clearly :) .... anyway, like the song and acting, no idea exactly what "Vaske" is saying (it is all Greek to me)) but he mentiones something like being more ferocious than vulcanous, earthshakes etc....; think song name is wrongly written but unimportant

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEiLSFJwS4I

as summer tune, only this further from me, homage to our Bran, Ibar and Tara nobility and our horny roots :) (except Scythish).... 30 years old song, no idea if they are still alive ; but do not listen to music that much, nice for summer, would like to be on Scottish beaches right now........ :)

...so small tip to all those "downhearted" Italian, Greek (though they are present in Hollywood productions), Mexican, our etc etc filmmakers - it is not so much about "inferiority or cultural imperialism" from some side and domination in subjects, it is as much about own inactivity and passivity... of course we can not beat Hollywood nor "conquer US" with some stories, but not because stories are bad. But we can copy some things from them, work more on characterization with less pathetic and more epic music behind characters, and you can at least try... million-two viewers in the US even on disks or pirate ways and is good start and success, opening of the doors for some future production that would go in cinames etc.

you do not even need G. Butler as I joked, this dude can do it if able to act... visually satisfying and first step. If characterization is deep and memorable, if pathetic is less, if musical tunes following character are good you do not need millions of $$ for "success" and making them interested.... solid action, nice constumes (no need to lie just follow sources) and keep them Oscars coming (if it is in English))... seriously, good characterisation by me is 50% of success, hardly anything is less memorable and false than "NBA star like" king and international team of 2m bodygards :) make him arrogant but fair, wild but educated and intelligent as first steps in characterisation; or something else but still not amorphous and not memorable... few good scenes of talks with Greeks, Venetians or Pierre Thomas (catholic saint), Templars, Teutons or Spaniards and they will like it..... it is about good characterization, doesn't have to be globally recognizable nor important story at all to be good film.... you can even have "powerful female" character in his wife which in front of Mt Athos - after refusal by monks to let her in - go to him, make sexy moves and put finger on his mouth and says "dear, why do no kill them all, look how small they are?" .... :lol

but also good costume (armor) and music, and you win in Scotland and Venice for start and make them go for pirated copies online in US ; .... anyway, Celtic music is Pirate music, isn't it, enjoy :p (bored moment as always, but why not giving some impressions on how much good characters are worth...)

....Hungarian foreign minister says an hour-two ago on American (and global) TV how they stopped 110.000 migrants on our border in 6 months of this year alone ; ... well i made many jokes (not so much here) about Mexico - coutry i respect - but this is hilarious and our politicians must be out of their mind... while i agree with Hungarian mister and you don't just go jobless, aggressive and without any perspective around other countries and cross whetever you want, make gangs or cooperate with mafia - as i said many times situation is uncomparable with Mexico as migrants in Mexico are arriving from countries with no political and military union with US they try to enter and migrants (our politicians quasi like so much, because they are stealing EU-funds) are coming in our country from EU and NATO countries, so it makes huge difference and makes huge difference even to Poland stopping migrants from outside territory - foreign nationals in Serbia did cross over EU and NATO territory before entering Serbia ; .... war in the east, Ukraine, is important and will have deep consequences, however for me still most important foreign policy issue more in unbelievable way than current importance - glad mister Hungarian minister mentioned as we do not have any info, numbers, situation whatsoever in our media :yes (taking his words as words of official person and high ranking official) madness, hundreds of thousands of "who-knows-whos" just wonder about quasi-civilized country.... banana. not seen such ridiculous and against own security policy even during wars... really is unimportant what i think about Hungary today (yes more "non-Europeans" and "non-Christians" live on the other side of "Hungarian wall" in Europe)) migrants, population trends etc. but is just ridiculous and main diplomacy issue and something to be talked about in our media more, even blaming neighbors if need be and some guts are in our politicians.... in Mexico media is reporting... sometimes ;

....worth saying and is how I am in private life as well, talk about everything, like we are open forum ; .... so it is hard to concentrate on sanctions, relations with neighbors, our soon-to-be booming film-industry, foreign investments and anything else....

strangely enough, medieval and epic themes come as total relaxation to me. Like this composer if i never posted before, like "Cronos" album, really medieval "feel" and this song or better said tune esp. Would employ him without question, check it out if working something epic ;) ...arise Dušan, arise and make some sense out of country :lol (joking as he allegedly had to deal with migrants as well during own reign, not other reasons... film would be good nonetheless and i like stories apolitically)

...power of TV - worst invention as I once said to some Scot :) - is undefeated yet in creation of "opinion" and giving "importance" to subjects not as they are but as they wish to be... generally. Do not watch much for years now, didn't even seen our presidente for days and things like that...

today is just one of those days where "Blondie" Boris is everywhere even in 10 mins time so much in every language... will remember him, if you force me to say, as man with Bulgarian name named after Khan we absolutely crushed and humiliated in battle, one of the most famous military successes in history, around Charlemagne time... as he talked about "sorry for many planned projects he'll abandon" and this is music after all :) - yes, I agree to that as he was the man who promised in our capital that his govt will import "turbo folk" (and singers) but now that is ruined, poor Britain and us... except that we had many disagreements about Scotland, whose independence I openly support never had problems to express political views clearly because from traditionally very democratic place... why? because I don't see any reason such iconic tribe not to have own state if wish be, some have even 2-3...

we and Britain have long ties since we fought French together during Hundred years war :yes ... confirmed many times through history, among other things (today they'll maybe deny) they armed us first with heavy weapons able to to hit Vienna during ww1 and dragged us into ww2... Churchill was half-Serb, his father our king Milan if unknown :) ...after Italy, small tribute to British empire and since our cinematic ties date back to long ago, please consider some of my proposals wouldn't mind some of your accent as way to more easily penetrate USA public. "Branko's belt" story is only for your eyes, though, open for flexibile solutions on details and we can start filming... most seriously, guard it very well and we both know how important it is and that it holds the secret of personal ties of our rulers with Caesar, Christ, Xerxes and Nephilim :yes ... thanks to queen Victoria for spreading our iconography as "Vikings, Brits etc" and sorry for being forced to leave the EU just because of us, but you'll return after we enter, of course... do join if you are "blondie" from there, esp. in skirt but not Scottish :)

i finished here so do not have hopes :) but must add this as is "cute" addition to my previous posts, on unfortunate event.... (with music added)

Shinzo Abe recieved our state medal just some 10 days ago, last international honor of his life. (and hopefuly most important) On Vitus day i mentioned.... bad omen. following the trace found the text i didn't read before and our president, during speech mentioned "patriots Obilić and Princip and tyrant rulers...".... well, as I want to be more serious historian than our president and to educate kids properly and respect science - Oblić (from 1389) was maybe totally fictional character from Turkish stories as role in battle and didn't kill anyone outside of battle maybe, while Ferdinand (not so important to me at all, except that i like animals...) wasn't quite tyrant yet... ;) ...there was much more elegant way to do it back then - after annexion of lands we should have just elegantly declared war on them, presenting ourselves as defending international law and without giving excuses to them.... Britain, France, Japan would follow our example and A-H would retreat in scare and crumble without war, after just realising that we mobilisied in 1908 ; As for previous Balkan wars we should have stayed outside of them as they took away everything from us anyway :) ...nothing against killing tyrants, but just for historical precision, as noticed I do care a lot about history and details, and kids having proper scientific explainations. Obilić probably lived and took part in previous battles of Plochnik and Dubravnica, but highly dubious and from Turk side initially, spread by Mauro Orbini as story of later role...(and i disagree with president that we would disappear as tribe/nation without Kosovo myth, we already had so much glory as kingdom and empire that others joined our tribe rather before, but that's for other themes.....)

anyway, nothing to do with late late mister Abe, our high decoration recipient and second ruler from purely Pacific country to recieve one, after king Kalakaua of Hawaii :yes Respect, controversies about wars and women aside ; ... as for Japan generally, we are very friendly since long ago, middle ages probably... we can enter freely and do babies, our city was allegedly first Europe capital after Peterburg with buddhist temple once, there is story that at least one Japanese fighting in our uniform in 1876, we were against Hiroshima, but nobody asked us ) etc etc... already posted video honouring Japan's medieval iconography few posts above, so no repeat. do join and tell us what is currently actual there in music, tbs, sport or any other sphere and if you love older history i can tell you a lot about greatest one in Europe.... :)

musically, once wrote short story about arguing and clash between Stefan (wounded by arrow) and Đurađ/George during retreat from Ankara and on their way to Constantinople... no idea why this inspired me to such subject at all, but created some images... while there is twist and drama, now it is more likely to be included in script for film "Black knights", when Hollywood contacts me... yes, everything gives me medieval inspiration :) ...if you ever find my texts after I die though, while directing the movie do not repeat Turk mistake from "Netflix" semi-drama (only international quasi-film with him so far) and make George much taller :) ...they were both tall but nothing close to Dušan, the freak, my idol ; ...have fun with hobbies.

...Japanese readers - i am very hopeful, welcome would be great - should catch few more interesting things from me, on anecdotal level or completely serious, while I touched it.... When i think about it, our relations are true model for the world as we were both empires even, but never in war :) We even did not declare war on Japan in 1904, Montenegro did ;) we were in war or armed hostility with almost every other empire in history - including Mongols (they burnt our main temple in XIII c etc), Turkey, Persians (then we were called Scyths) most of European powers, France, Germany etc etc and finally with NATO and Anglo-Saxon powers ...regarding wars our long standing "warcry" was "Serbia till/to Tokyo", not in rhyme in English nor Japanese, but rhyming in ours language - meaning that we always had you in our hearts as something "ours", close and intimate :) (of course you would just nominally recognize our rule)...Other anecdote (true historical fact) is that our last medieval capital Smederevo (we call it our lil Kyoto) was scene of "little Hiroshima" during ww2, when after occupation and 4 years before your cities, German ammo and weapon depot in old fort and capital exploded, leaving few thousand dead and (small) city ruined... some even blame British agents, some our Chetniks, some Communists, some smoking Germans but we'll never know as proper investigation was never conducted... Also after ww2 we decided not to have own army and policy and were ruled by others for decades (they were stronger and more numerous, called Yugosarmats or Y-Slavs).... now, after restoration of ties and as summa summarum of our both turbulent past - we would generally like to be ruled by Japanese politicians if possible after all :) ... annexation also is option :yes (with babies included, we think highly about your beauties generally but you can use katana on me if that hurts your honor as statement))

while subject is great for talk and cultural exchange and hope you like my details and find them funny - i posted mostly to excuse if it was not appropriate to "compare" XIX c Hawaii and Japan in sentence, but i did it with good intention to show how we have good. old relations with Pacific countries, sorry.... as superpower to superpower i know how bad comparisons can offend :yes have fun, hopefully join...

...started to read a bit of Japanese sites (in English of course)) with news and stories and for more laugh, since site has comment section :yes in arguments between Chinese and Japanese users got link to this year '22 "global peace index" by country and Serbia is 77 (!) places above USA..... :lol .... stop disgracing us westerners already.... ;)

last piece of respect from me for now to Japanese and far-Asian empires in this inter-cultural form. Very good, musically and vocally :yes Not "folk person" myself that much though this particular song is so called "old town music" played in Serbia aproax. on turn of XIX and XX c, while song is much older and some say that text was changed during later rules, politically... but it doesn't matter it is sung this way even here.... never understood that problem with Japanese with "sh" i.e. "š" as so many Japanese words, places, names (at least in our western-famed versions) do have that "sh" sound :dunno Nonetheless, maybe that's some mental blockade, but cute anyway, esp. from 2 girl cuties :yes more babies and respect again, think our rulers seen your greatness in the middle ages already, hope for best possible relations

...to add - it is pearl in fact and deserved more watch, they were here but sadly small market as it is primarily Serbian/Moravian look ; - there is indeed something "Mexican" inthere and as Mexican things are by large "Iberian" de facto Spanish better said, so well maybe some old tie indeed... but also "Morriconean" (Ennio one) as well if you notice etc etc

in any way, never particularly "noticed" nor felt song though being classic through centuries - strangely enough not before Japanese band played it :) Instant love, among my favs now can't wait to mix it with some drink on sunday ; .... subjectively beautiful, epic and powerful, going mad about 2:20+ moment esp. "Old Serbia" rules but esp. if Japanese tako on it :notworthy ...long live Japan :yes

Yesterday a forest / rural fire broke out near Palmela, a town 9km north of Setúbal, where I am.
We had around 39Cº and 40km/h hot wind, fortunately for the city, coming from the sea in the south.
But for the folks between city and town it wasn't easy. So far, 12 went to the hospital, 2 with burns.
An undetermined number of houses were lost, and animals, domestic and cattle.
A village was evacuated because a fuel station was at risk.
The thing raged wildly for most of the afternoon without me noticing.
Never got any smell of burning as the wind was blowing in the direction of the fire.
Closing to the afternoon's end I heard a pair of airplanes flying low.
That's when I went to the balcony and saw the seaplane firefighters coming back from the smoke billowing up, say surely, not more than a single km north of here.
The thing spread some 8km against the wind in my direction!
Lucky for Palmela they had a mountain on their back making the fire go around and losing momentum.
More or less same time the airplanes arrived the wind was reducing considerably and after a dozen trips between the sea and the fire things got quieter and they left.
By morning the fire was given as controlled but around noon I heard the two planes again so it has re ignited.
Temperature has dropped a bit but if the wind picks up again this afternoon there will be another mayhem...

...short course on Japanese, if you ever get there...

¯\_(ツ)_テ Japanese word for "waiter!"

¯\_(ツ)_ヱ Japanese word for "cheers!"

¯\_(ツ)_ナ Japanese phrase for "is there christian temple in city?" (if you are religious)

ウ_(ツ)_ウ phrase used when Japanese person tries to warn you that you are talking without protection mask...

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ミ typical Japanese answer on your question "how much it costs?"

:) do join us, i won't insist anymore & and am out... will use this chance to from history lover perspective, thank Japanese imperial archives for opening up for us and showing some interesting details and "unknown history"... not only letters our rulers exchanged since 1880s and later, but totally unknown visits of Japanese princes, generals, emperor's relatives, even Hirohito's brother later :) but also grandfather of current emperor to Serbia and our military etc etc... we never knew that mostly :yes (just dealing with some material, for some inspiration)

@Bombast
The situation is really dramatic for you and in all of Southern Europe. The German TV news reports about it regularly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SI34O8i5lc
The song lyrics have nothing to do with forest fires, but the headline fits if there is no more water to extinguish the fires ;) : Fight Fire With Fire

Right!
Portugal asked aircraft to France and Greece but the former is using them and the latter already sent them elsewhere.
Spain is getting it too, including one that is coming from there across the border.
Seems the two flying overhead came all the way from Italy. Thank you Italy!

Meanwhile, the wind did pick up yesterday afternoon but it also suffered a big shift.
It went on blowing from the northwest, where the Atlantic is.
So this wind is damp and cool and fires along the coastline disappeared almost instantly.
In the interior they're still going on.

Curiosity:
Yesterday Portugal saw a new record for highest temperature registered in July. It is now 47º.

And now Italy again...
