...unimportant and as i said to Para in other place, it's new reality in this subforum and in our lives but I am taking it as some sort of campaign forum just for some content, so forget about any tables, dates and all, won't be much around for new ccs and if it never ends just throw it away in rec bin :) (same apropos present cc1) As i said to you, have fun with game :yes anyway, for own fun had to do something known but at the same time maybe a bit more challenging than old blitzes so went with this oldie from cc pack but with open AK. downloaded core pack including .exe from official site, overwriting the one i had but it says it's from last october, meanwhile Luis' site is not reachable for me. Not so important, just to say because for some reason i think my old exe was newer few days ago... but i'm not sure about anything as using it from time to time and mix a lot

never used open version of efile with this campaign, but played it few times, last time what's now "many" years ago. Now time to try it at 50%, in a longer (not sure depends on inspiration) run, if around. For newer readers, not so hard camp as its fame in own days, but there are compicated scenarios and core is not able to grow as much in size compared to some camps of the time. Went through first 3 scens, initial 2 no bigger problems but (as expected) Beda Fomm was hard and had to retreat few times under pressure by Italian tanks which ruined almost every piece of my armor, only one stood at above 5 sp by the end. Was fun, lost only one green core infantry and scored last turn BV after some troops from the south reinforced my thin lines north... as seen i was buying mostly tanks & arty (mentioned inf died) and in near future i plan to add few of AD cover, you don't need many kind of troops here for successful run, as i remember:

thanks Para, will see if it lives at all...however, camp isn't working as "intended" (only once famous now MIA creator knows real intentions with scens but i'm not talking that) with this game version (probably known if someone tried them recently, i didn't read around, sorry if repeating) so one will have to edit either save or camp file to make it work... it makes run even less "official", problems are next two finished scens where recapturing flags - or even taking all flags as i did in M'el Brega - will not give victory to player. So need is to give some VHs for allied player to capture initially, at scen start. I edited them, giving one extra target in mentioned battle and 2 targets in Tobruk battle, it's only way. camp is still not openized, just tweaked without conversion to .xcam BUT if there are much problems ahead needing my intervention and editing - i'll give up as this open demi-run and declare it incompatible :) In short, player/allied side has to have some VH to capture at scen start for scen to work properly

scored TV at Brega (optimistic me placed VH at westernmost SH hence result in tough scenario by itself) and last turn BV in Tobruk defense, where VHs i placed, 2 on each attacking side of map, were much nearer... other than that tweaks, which only made it slightly harder, scenarios were tense and fun, enemy much stronger but one can soften them down with few arty hits and punch them with armor after... got tank/AT proto which has mountain movement, never seen it in action, will not be able to overrun but nice support for future Ghurka section in some battles ;

so this unofficial run continues for now, but it's important to note how, edit is a must, either bug or just game version (post in main forums if you have problems with other works)... if you never heard of it, this is recommended piece of pg2 mods :yes but old and not liked by all ))

when it comes to compatibility in general, newer players should know that it is mostly "closest to original feeling" when you use efiles of the era (i think he designed it for WK initially) But of course, we won't do that for fun and out of interest, as we all tend to use newer efile if available like i do here... one obvious example is 88 mm flak gun - one both Rommel and designer Steve used a lot - back when created it was an AT, here it's a Flak class - so i've seen situations when it sometimes fires at close airplane in range instead of nearby sitting armor as easy target. and so on, general impression is that camp is (maybe) slightly easier so far, but to be fair when i first played it AK 4000 was already actual and 88s were flaks back then and i never tried original wk camp... prices are some other stats are disvantage and all other ups and downs, just have fun what ever you try if generally doable.

so to use this moment to advance deeper - camp has lots of scens, but many are just short puzzle like battles that just take less than half an hour or less at this stage - finished another 3 scens, some are longer battles but moment is quiet as May begins, usually there is lots of "sport battles" in this time of year... At Brevity lost another green inf, generally hard work for last turn BV by taking coastal town. Battleaxe realatively easy with lots of troops and - most important - auxies for screening and eventual sacrifice. Went so smooth that even western AI reinforces didn't bother my advance so i played to last turn. In Crusader however scored BV-4 as i was thin behind when they showed. Last maybe the least interesting of all scens in this 8 group, was really strong and crossed desert in all directions searching for prey, until that moment 4 turns before BV, when they found me :)

i was in hurry (i expect slowdown) because this is moment when i mostly finished building my army so to show how it looks like, just upgrading now... many repeating leader types (something which happens a lot) and what i regret is not being able to get at least one on recon unit, but it will be more complicated... but believe me after Daisenryaku Sega experiences (in pub) nothing is so scary :lol

lets move, next group of scens is the one i mentioned as shorter ones, one needing speed, proper placing and (very probably) dose of luck for fast success, but not much time consuming... btw edited - for reasons talked above - also Venezia by adding VH for our side, so far last one edited and hope it stays that way until end, which is uncertain and far away but generally i think any average general could do it with enough gaming stamina.... meanwhile in real world, "martial law" is over in my place - i'll tell only one moment from official stats - not much less affected by virus people than Japan, only that Japan is country of some 125 millions, not 6 millions ) but anyway those are two universes, respect to them, inspired to comment by Paras plays around ;

Venezia and Aberdeen were two tense and interesting battles, with complicated moments but scored BVs knowing what to do... Gazala withdrawal was BV on second turn, by recapturing one of southern positions but mainly concentrating main units north to capture German VH on second. At Mersa placed all tks, arty and 1 AD and also scored BV on second turn as I approached from SE direction while AI moved north into attack, seemed never easier - but i think this army is strong for this part (25% in some future moment)). First El Alamein one longer battle, no need to guard all hexes so i just deployed for attack in two directions. As I advanced by turn 3, AI reinfroces were right in the middle of my line, was interesting moment. not so easy and with some survival scares, but generally unproblematic and with taking extra flags...

Curious moment is chain of 5 BVs from Battleaxe to Mersa without prototype - rare thing - and when it arrived it was tank cheaper than Grant (i hoped for some big bomber or arty) but, as i said with all experience and units i don't feel much pressure on the field. often wonder why posting anything - to round that story to Para - but as i'm already playing why not posting it as those game series are still personally liked, although at moment I seem to be more into "known ground" with older camps in OG to see how it looks like... it has to do something with age and other interests :)
