Campaign Challenge XXIV

:steve Steve Brown’s
French Campaign, 1940-45 (v2.50)
with Builders Paradise Equipment File

Introduction:

IMPORTANT NOTE: YOU HAVE TO USE THE VERSION OF THE BP EQUIPMENT FILE BUNDLED WITH THE CAMPAIGN OTHERWISE YOU WILL GET NO TRUCKS BETWEEN 1941 AND JUNE 1944

This is a brand-new version of my French campaign that extends the original campaign to 1945 - it adds 5 scenarios in Alsace in November 1944-January 1945 (and two of these new scenarios are made by Mr Dennis Felling!). I have not changed anything in the older scenarios.

This campaign follows French battles from the fall of France, to North Africa, Italy and then back to France. There are desert battles, mountain battles, amphibious operations and other fun stuff! The campaign is not the easiest campaign ever made :| but it is fun and is not the hardest either ;) . It is mainly an infantry campaign but you will be able to buy plenty of tanks and even aircraft, however take into account often your enemy will have better equipment (particularly tanks and ATs, while you have R35s the Germans have Pz IVs and by the time you get Shermans and M10s the Germans have Tigers, Panthers and Jagdpanthers) so you should buy a good variety of units - however there is some pleasure turing an R35 into an overrunning monster unit ;) and some early tanks (S35 and Char B1) are good tanks, although they will get outclassed eventually.

An important note is that in the first scenario you receive some prestige at the start and then you get 1500 points on turn 8.

The BP equipment file is limited in choices to some extent but, unlike some efiles, what you lose in choices you gain in accuracy (particularly in aircraft) since the BP file does not, for example, list aircraft that really were RAF units with French crews ;) .
