Wie ich lernte den FT zu lieben...

Post by Golothin » 2020-10-04 12:55, Sunday

1925-47 NATIONAL REVOLUTIONARY ARMY
Chinese campaign
Scenario - Battle of Shanghai

presumable property - most experienced, smallest tank in WW2-Efile campaign

:howdy

this sounds like the old :monster tank `cc` from years gone bye

:idea

how about doing another but instead of a random leader all having the same starting leader something not good for tanks
like maybe a liberator?
that way it presents a dilemma!! prestige for strength, attachments etc or kills what is the object
throw in some triggers make the campaign short and if possible newish
a blast them up overrun fun fest :cool :yes

it's more or less a coincidence that so far all units are tanks with leader. Didn't want to limit that to tanks with a certain number of kills etc. The only selection criterion for me was that the unit had over 1000xp :monster and the first unit is from a campaign that hasn't even been released yet

So you suggest to use / create a (mini-) campaign for a tank contest? Is Campaign Challenges not such are contest? :dunno

this topic, is only a pictorial (not in numberslike in CC) presentation of cool units without ulterior motives of a real contest. Where are your :monster

* T-44/85 , Cpn. Scipio , 5 bars , 2093 exp , USSR , 9/10 , Overwhelming Attack , 147 kill , 0 pp - U:002 [+278 exp]

PG2UK220.exe startest, wird Code ausgeführt den ich with my own hands dort reingeschrieben habe. Das war im Jahre des Herrn 2004, Amen! :lol

Should we create a new thread for pictures only, because both in one thread does not work me thinks :huh Pictures will get lost between all the AARs.

Sorry, but without surprise it wouldn't be a Raate Road scenario. I'll at least include a note in the briefing -thanks for the hint! :yes

Also mir persönlich wäre ein Limit egal.

Morgen poste ich erstmal meinen Panzer aus der "From D-Day to Deutschland"-Kampagne.

Some things that confuse me:

1) mish-mash of AAR and picture thread

2) pictures, without mentioning the campaign

3) no "house rules"

IMO it is better to separate AARs and pics:
- the pics might get lost within the texts
- people might not be interested in AARs and texts
Also, it might be more interesting to put the picture thread into a different (in particular in one of the english language) forum(s).
Maybe, side-by-side to the "Scroll of Honour" a "Scroll of Infamy" for the most experienced and/or blood-thirsty units on a campaign basis :lol

For a slightly searious comparison, the campaign should be mentioned.
Otherwise player X is proud of his "SSI Defending the Reich" infantry with 500 XP and 20 kills, suddenly gets overshadowed by a "CC56" with 2000 XP and 50 kills, gets overshadowed by a "Superblitz" inf 6667 XP and 222 kills - with the "masses" not knowing where/how/why the different results were achieved.

As for rules, they should either be mentioned with the picture post or otherwise be setup in some way.
Example, Para raised AI prestige and deliberately "failed" at achieving BVs in his "Next Monstertank Challenge" (on JP's), with IIRC over 6k XP and 1k kills, and the tank having Overstrength.
With different rules by different players on the same campaign, different results will be achieved.

Going back to the beginning, even as a not-so-serious, just-for-fun "challenge", the campaign and "which rules did i use" should be mentioned by the picture posters, so that everyone may consider whether he/she wants to top it with the same campaign or pick a different (unit and/or campaign and/or ruleset). And, of course, a separate picture thread is needed :2cents

P.S.
Tanks are usual suspects, but i love the FT pic :twink

Some things that confuse me:

1) mish-mash of AAR and picture thread
Maybe an admin can fix that. :dunno
mythos wrote:

2) pictures, without mentioning the campaign
I've added infos to my pics.

When there is no time limit for finishing :o i would join.

Basekorps is great Efile and fun to play with :twink
I agree with Keighley that Blitz 2008 might too well known - in particular Para, hoza, Doug and me have played it recently or are still playing.

How about "Axis at War" or "German World Campaign" (longer), or "Germany/Europe at War" (shorter campaigns) ?
Or a non-German campaign, "Soviet Black Sea Campaign" or "Mussolini's Africa Korps" ?

Agreeing on the same leader could be difficult. I personally would be interested to see which leader different players choose and what results they can achieve. Although i think that Para would top it anyway, with a Fire Discipline leader and one hand *eh* track tied behind the back :lol

hi

only reason i suggest same leader at the start = same playing field

then results depend on players tactics/ability

starting prestige modifier would be upto the player and what they felt comfortable with

for a battle challenge i think perhaps 75 to 150% acceptable :dunno :2cents

time limit i reckon about 3 months should be okay(but not a rule)

:idea

How about if this goes ahead the winner gets

TO CHOOSE THE NEXT CHALLENGE

E-File------------whatever they want
Campaign------------same as above
they also can choose what :monster piece of equipment we use
but most important this could be a game changer------THE STARTING LEADER!!!!!

Time limit can be adjusted depending on campaign length and complexity - "We search for Ways" in 3 months for example could be a killer for some.

I like LXF campaigns, but many (all ? ) use the Green Replacements feature, making the "most experienced unit" challenge tricky.

Yeah, i like these ideas as well :cool
A challenge should not take more than 3 or 4 moths me thinks. Maybe someone? can compile some statistics afterwards :huh

(I can only speak for me, but i would skip campaigns using green refit and no-auto refit. But that should not stop anyone from proposing such campaigns)
((Keighleyred please don't forget the Bundesliga :lol ))
