I'm bored with the same map and similar tasks over and over again.
The INF is unsuitable for jungle warfare. Mountain-INF would be better. It moves with more than one hex. But it is expensive here and has little combat value. In order to reach the distant destinations at all, I buy three Jeeps - 10 hex all terrain. Unfortunately, they are very sensitive to any enemy attack.

In the HQ I improved a fighter. No upgrades or purchases.

The next two scenarios take place again on the same map.
The first New Georgia scenario in particular suffers from the massive use of sea mines. I am not clear about the historical development of OpenGeneral at this point, but I believe that sea mines did not have the "Evade" property at the time this campaign was built. They are the greatest obstacles and can often only be destroyed with the existing DDs after many (unsuccessful) attempts. This puts the player in great time trouble.
The second scenario shines with stacked units, which is why I missed the BV by one turn.

interesting - a port with 10x NT and all units have to go through it. Long ways to coasts free of sea mines - or through the mines with a lot of risk. A recon made it, lost 7 strengths in the process, but was then able to take all VH's in the south-east. Everyone else head north, a quick fight and finish.

In the HQ I bought two ATs with pioneering ability against the entrenched Japanese. That was also necessary, because the Japanese were entrenched with an average of 10.
It was hell. I am very happy that it is over and I have no idea how to end this scenario any faster.
128 enemies killed - that's more than 1/3 of the total number of enemies in the campaign.
Unfortunately there is no port and the Navy runs out of ammunition before halfway through the scenario. Several turns with rain followed and I couldn't play out my air superiority.

:hello Clemens, thank you for your feedback. You are right in all matters.
The campaign has few highlights. There are a few scenarios that were cleverly designed and with the right units the player gets good (and quick) results.
But a lot is also stupid, like the multiple use of the same maps or the use of multiple stacked units. Even the e-file doesn't make the player cheer. He only plays with the units of the USMC and has no access to the entire US arsenal. Therefore, there are few purchase and upgrade options. This means that the campaign remains relatively uninteresting and does not make you want to repeat it.
