Tutorial campaign & Manual

Hello,

First time poster here, but I played PG1 a lot back in the days.

This remake is great.

I've installed on linux within wine (windows emulator) if that makes any
difference.

I've only started playing 2 days ago, but old memory kicked in quickly.
The first 2 battles of the tutorial campaign were easy enough, but the
third, I lost at least 10 times now nad am wondering if its winnable.

The manual shows that the first turn should be yours to start but I am
not getting to play it, instead the AI starts to attack and I can only
respond at turn 2 when the reinforcements (planes) arrive.

Is all of this normal ?
Is this tutorial battle difficulty level OK ?

However, I do not see anything unusual in the third scenario.
The only deviation is that after all units are deployed around the VH, the AI has the first move. But that is not a problem. The Russian attack is not strong, the red air fleet is blocked by the AD. Stay in position and defend the VH. Make sure there is enough support fire from the German artillery. The Ju-87G and the Panther tank do all the work and kill all the T-34's. The Soviet VH ends up being defended by only one infantry. Brilliant victory one turn before the end.

Well yeah, the campaigns are almost identical. I was confused.
I just played the AK version of the campaign with the same impressions than you.

OK, following your advices I was finally able to win it, just one turn too late for a brilliant victory.

But I still needed about ten more tries to get there, though.

I requisitionned two more units:
an artillery (12cm GrW42 w/o transport) and an infantry unit (Reserve, w/o transport)

In addition to the list stated above.
