Actually the setting is variable and can be changed for every campaign, but so far i use only a general setting on efile level, so building facilities or repairing a hex takes the same duration in turns in all campaigns.

All 22 files (from 0 to 21) hex_tiledecors *.png & *.cfg

All first 9 scenarios - several times - completed with no issues
Progression to scenario 10 Demiansk impossible "Could not load C:\OpenGen\OPENGUI\hex_tiledecors3.png"
:howdy reitor

Luis could not replicate the issue either viewtopic.php?p=13656#p13656
I have no idea why this issue appears in that campaign. I guess, all you can try is to install a fresh copy of the game into a new different folder, add a copy of the newest efile version and copy the savegame folder, if you want to go on with the "Forward,..." campaign.
Or you play other campaigns first and see if there will be problems and come back to this one later once you have installed a new OG version anyway.
Sorry, i can not help :bonk

I put together a preliminary path for the allied campaign. There are 27 scenarios now. All maps are 3K size and i wish there were more maps so i could expand the campaign a little. But i need 5 new maps already so.... yeah, i'll see. Maybe i add Breda on a bigger version of the nice map :huh
And i won't start talking about Dutch or British scenarios in southeast Asia :lol
The maps man, the maps :bonk

But i am very very very exited about this campaign :banana I think i will split the fight against the soviets off and build this one into a proper allied ww2 campaign. I have not found a title yet though.

[EDIT: after further research i think i will add the Battle of Tarakan, January 1942, to the campaign. Dutch colonial troops against Japan. Map should be not that hard]

Suggestions, critique anyone? :howdy

I still would like a scenario of Operation Veritable (yes, a new map would be needed for this). My grandmother lived 1945 in Uedem and she told me years ago, how destroyed the village was after the fightings at the Niederrhine.

Thanks for your comment :howdy
Yep, that would be a nice scenario and i know it is very interesting to have scenarios in known terrain. For me it is the big Harz map and scenario, showing the area where i live and where i know many towns and landmarks.
But i am afraid of a new map of the Niederrhein area, because these maps are the hardest ones by far (for me). I still stuggle with the Ruhrgebiet map i started more than one year ago.
No coastline, no ocean, no mountains, just plain land makes things complicated. So at this point such a map is highly unlikely, sorry.

I have an idea, if you like of course and if can be done with the big battles. I know is not realistic an "air healer unit" but, if there is an airfield (not dirty or not one that you can built) and a unit stays 1 round or 2, after resuply, that unit to get 1 SP.

Looking at it now, i think i will change the icon, so the 105mm AT will also show 2 soldiers with the gun, like the other two airborne AT. Then i will change the icons for the artillery units, so they all use the same and the AT will use the other icon.
The new icon with the gun is perfect, and the sound too. I imagine this with 2 soldiers :clap :clap

I meant, i will set this icon for the AT (so change from ATY to AT): Image
And this icon for all german ATY recoilless rifles (Leichtgeschütz). Even if it is the same gun than the AT. Image

Its a old icon, but actually there is no (up to date) icon of the Leichtgeschütz anyway. So we have to do the best out of the existing icons.
I never play with sound, i just set them in SUITE for the units. Hope everything is correct because i never hear the sounds again in the game :lol

As for the healer airfield. I just tested a airfield container unit (works like aircraft carrier) and it does not work as a healer and there is no variable setting in the cfg files.

It was my fault! :bonk :bonk I set experience but not experience bars, so the unit had 439 experience but 0 experience bars. That happens when i set experience for all units automatically and forget to tick the "bars" box. This setting is somewhat unfortunate :lol
Then in the game, when the units gets a little exp, it raises all the bars and gets a leader.

Thanks for reporting :cool :howdy

I want to playtest these new campaigns to see all the additions made to the Atomic efile but the download is an RAR file and my computer cannot unzip it.
What tool do others use to unzip this file?

I have request. I am a big fan of playing a campaign with many different units. (e.g. i don't like a campaign as yours at polskie - maybe it is great but i see 1 type of tank, 1 type of aty etc etc.)
Anyway that is my problem and who knows, i maybe play and campaigns like this.
My request: I wish my Gebirisjagers to have an ATY support (e.g. Mortar) with mountain movement (mules)

There is the 75mm GebG 36 that has mule transport. And next month after Baku 105mm GebH40 will be available.
But you are right, i will add the Gebirgsjäger Mortar to the efile :cool

I also like to play with many different units and also with units having a large variety of special abilities. So i can always pick the best unit for the job.

When there is just one unit of a class in my army in the other campaign, that means that there is so much prestige that i can buy the best unit in every class. And i don't have to slowly upgrade my army, for example, i can upgrade all tanks in one single scenario. But that is also because many units are cheaper.

[EDIT: if you want i can send the efile tomorrow, then you can buy a Gebirgsjäger Mortar :yes ]

This reminds me of playing my PG2 WW2 campaign once with the rules that I can't own a unit more than once.
Edit:
Clemens, I am not sure. I am missing the Gvardeskaya Kavallerie from the Sowjets. Was this unit never in the Atomic Efile, or have you deleted it? I always thought the elite version was in your efile.

It is not a particular campaign has these rules. These are rules that you give yourself when you play a campaign to add some variety.

:howdy Okay, i will send you a email with the efile + mountain mortar. There is just a grey icon yet. I have to create the winter and desert icons, same for the 105mm para AT.

I took the principle over from Basekorp efile. Halftrack transports cost 168pp, even if they don't have the same stats. And i didn't see the reason to change it.
In the future i want to rewrite all transport vehicles costs, based on their movement and movement method, but that has very low priority for me right now.
Most of the time i need for map making :bonk

I plan to release the next version of the efile in 2 or 3 weeks. There will be two new standalone scenarios available. Battle of Rhodes by Dimitris :clap and the PBEM scenario Battle of Prokhorovka. There will be also some new units and tweaks in the efile.

Weltkrieg campaign: The next 4 scenarios plus one choice screen are ready for testing. The player will then be able to play 56 scenarios.
At the choice screen prior to the Sealion scenario the player can choose between:
- a heavy radar cruiser with a spotting range of 8
- a flotilla leader destroyer with combat support
- a carrier-borne combat support jet fighter
- two air cavalry infantry units that can use helo transport.
All these units have a base strength of 12. The prestige value of these units differ a lot, but again, where if not in this campaign should i make these units available for the player?! :cool Apart from the jet fighter these units are NO BUY units.

With 56 scenarios ready and less than 20 to go, the end of the campaign is in sight :lol Stay tuned!

I added a Equipicons pack download link to the first post. Designers and Efile makers will find 403 additional icon png files used by ATOMIC EFILE, a csv sheet and a dat file.

17 Replacement Icons
16 Icons by Krzychu72
370 RA icons
How does a player get these icons into the openicons.dat file so they appear in the game?

A player does not need them in the openicons.dat because only i use them as far as i know and there is a equipicons.dat that comes with the efile.

As a designer you have to create your own equipicons.dat. The openicons.dat is not maintained at the moment. Csaba has retired i guess and there is no volunteer to take over the job.
The equipicons also gives me the freedom to create the icons i want. I remember, at JP's, some of my icons got rejected by Csaba because they "lacked quality".
Anyway, now i just can add what i want to the equipicons of the efile. Of course i try my best to minimize errors :ihope
I also have created some more icons by now and want to create more in the future. For example i need some generic North African/Arab/Central Asian infantry icons.

It is nothing new. I just started to use equipicons so i can use icons that are not part of openicons for the aforementioned reasons.
As of now my efile uses almost 7000 different icons and only around 400 are in equipicons.dat while the vast majority of icons comes from the regular openicons.dat.

A few years ago, I had an idea for a campaign dedicated to the actions of the Red Army during the Civil War and the Polish-Bolshevik War. Unfortunately, the current state of Gustlik's Efile does not allow this idea to be fully implemented, as there are not many needed units.

I created this scenario to see how it works and looks more or less in Atomic Efile. So now i want to share with him. The mission takes place a few days after the October Revolution when the overthrowed Prime Minister Kerensky contacts General Krasnov and together they gather Cossack forces to attack Petrograd and restore power to the Provisional Government. The player directs the Red Guard forces to stop the enemy's forces.

The scenario has its own dedicated music - to be inserted in a folder OpenGeneral \ SOUND.

I played the scenario and got a regular victory. I could not hold the Krasnoye Selo VH.
But i played without music. I never play with music or sound. The only time when i hear the sounds of the game is in Major Heinz' youtube videos :lol

It was never my intention to create a WW1 campaign with my efile. I had the idea that it should be possible to start with 2 or 3 scenarios at the end of WW1 or the Russian Civil War and then move on to later years and even the Korea War later on.
The big nations in the efile have units from 1918 until 1959 while some minor nations are only present in the early or the later years.

For example i once had the idea of a Finnish campaign that starts with the Finnish Civil War 1918 and goes on with Winter War and Continuation War.
For this reason i created even two more nations, Red and White Finland.

When i started working on the efile (with Basekorp as the starting ground) regular infantry in 1939 had 1 hard attack and 6 soft attack, so i had to reduce the numbers for the earlier infantry and other units.
I don't know if there will be any problems playing with such low numbers. So far i encountered no problems but for example some artillery units are much stronger because they already existed for WW2.
So far i made only 3 standalone scenarios that take place in the early years.

For a WW1 era campaign i think the Kaiser efile is much better suited. Although some features are missing there.

I am coordinating the efile update with Luis' next Open General update and so the new version of the efile and campaigns will be released in two weeks around 17th July. Stay tuned :cool

Many thanks to Luis who increased the unit limit once again :notworthy :notworthy Now we are able to have 11999 units in an efile. That gives me the opportunity to add some more units and add units that had to be deleted due to problems of space.

Good to hear. :cool

But also good because on 17th July I will be back from Italy and so I can answer if there will be any questions or comments on my campaign. There should be seven new scenarios of my campaign in these update.

Thanks to Alberich's :howdy screenshots in the Polish forum i learned that it is possible to have bigger leader roundels in the game :cool
I never knew that it is possible nor did i even think about it, but i think it looks better and more importantly, it makes the leaders more recognizable on big maps with many units.
So i will increase the size of the roundels from around 7x7 to around 9x9 pixel. I don't know if i can update all roundels in time for the upcomming efile update. I guess i will start with the major nations first. It also needs some testing to find the best shape of "stars" and other roundels with an unusual shape.

At least the UK roundel looks fine when compared to the smaller one in this picture. Towed artillery has big roundel, self-propelled small roundel.
The star is also bigger in size, but as i have said, it needs more testing:

After working night and day :lol on the bigger roundels i mentioned in my previous post, i completed the roundels for the first 47 nations. It looks so much better and is a real improvement in my opinion. Again a big thanks to Alberich for the idea :howdy

I shifted the roundels one pixel to the right, so there will be a one pixel gap between the strength plate and the roundel.
Some roundels are still hard to recognize but overall there is a hugh improvement:

Finished the roundels today. The bigger roundels look so much better :cool Even Godzilla (Kaiju nation) got his own one :lol
Now i have to testplay one more scenario and then everything is prepared for the efile update.

Hm, the smaller roundels look 'rounder' to me, doesn't look the center part of the bigger ones a bit like a cross? :2cents

Actually it is a rotated square. At this small scale there will be some optical illusions.
The picture you quoted is already outdated and the roundel got improved. You can see it in the large picture with all the infantry and planes. The yellow star also lost it's outline.
But i also had to make some compromises. For example it was not possible for me to show the swedish Tre Kronor at this scale.
But after playing several scenarios with the big roundels i am quite happy about it and will keep them. To me it is a big improvement :yes

EDIT: The look also depends on the colors of the map/background.
I also changed the German Balkenkreuz into a Tatzenkreuz because the Balkenkreuz did not look too good at the new scale imo.

Re: ATOMIC Efile [see 1st post]

My plan for the time after the Weltkrieg campaign and the next year is to build two campaigns:

- A grand allied campaign with around 30 scenarios from 1940 to 1945.
- A german eastern front campaign with around 20 scenarios from the start of Barbarossa to Stalingrad.

Both campaigns will only use 3150x3000 pixel maps, which is also the limiting factor. But i think it is also nice to have some short campaigns :lol
I still will create few new maps for both campaigns.

I have already plotted a first version of the allied campaign with 27 scenarios. Would be nice to add few more.
Before the summer Dimitris and i were talking about a new Corinth/Athens map and if he still needs it, i would use it myself, of course.
Dimitris, if you read this, maybe you can write about your future plans :howdy

Tarakan will be a bonus scenario. Maybe the player gets a free dutch infantry or something like that.
There needs to be some logical stretching because the player can buy units from many countries but that might not reflect the historic composition of the allied armies. But that comes with the game and i don't mind it too much. It is also in the responsibility of the player to compose his core army more or less historic. Still i guess the player will mostly field US and UK units at the end of the campaign.

At El Alamein/Alam Halfa the same map will be used 3 times in a row which is maybe a bit tiring :dunno
The Ruhr Pocket map i started a long time ago and i did nothing ever since :lol I will be motivated to finaly finish it!

Everyone feel free to comment :howdy

For the moment, i can only read and not all...
It is hard for me that i am out for so many time, but from Octomber i will be back. For sure a map of Corinthe will be great, my plans are for another scenario (Corinthe) and later for a mini (???) campaign.
I am so happy that you have plans for more campaigns.

:howdy Ok great! Then i will make the map we were talking about earlier:

Image

I will also add it to the Weltkrieg campaign, together with the Battle of Britain scenario. Of course the map will be featured in the allied campaign too.
I also decided to add a random Battle of France 1944 scenario to the allied campaign, using the same map as 1940. Altered the campaign path accordingly. Have to check the situation maps for the exact date though.

So here is the path for the German eastern front campaign. There are 21 scenarios so far. Would be nice if i could find few more :ihope
All maps are 3K once again. I think the player will get a infantry division with around 15 units at the start of the campaign. Of course there will be no protos. I will write the scenario intros in german, because at least one time i want to write good scenario intros.

So far i have not planned to use the big winter map of Leningrad. Since the germans could not capture the city i don't want to have such a scenario in this campaign. And just some static trench war is maybe not too interesting. I'll see :huh
