I will join the CC 76 with my 100% run (for lower Prestige Settings I am not good enough).

I will not write so much About the Scenarios here, but post my AARs. You can follow my Play on my Youtube channel Arthur Bedur. I will post my AARs after I have uploaded a Scenario (this is an exception, the Video will be published in Maybe two Hours).

Current scenario: Defense of Soul; BV (3 VHs held)

Okay, this is a no auto refit Campaign and I have lacking experience in this. Normally I am attacking very hard with my units to gain faster experience but now I have to handle my units with kid gloves.
But the first scenario was easy. My artillery supressed every attack of the AI.

I got a nice Patton Proto and bought some Units.

I am not a Player who studies the Scenarios before playing, so I was not aware how many Units the AI would have. So I played carefully, but got the BV in the last turn. Unfortunately I lost some SP through artillery fire.

Current Scenario: Pusan Perimeter, BV-4

I bought a fighter with good HA and SA attack. The half of the troops went into the Southwest and the rest of my troops into the west to stabilisize the front. I do not think that the Scenario is too easy. If you know, that in the Southwest is only Little resistance you can rush to the VH and conquer it really fast. But if you do not know it, because the player cannot handle the Suite or he does not want to be spoilered, the Scenario can be challenging. The Problem is that the enemy brakes really fast through the lines in the North and P`ohang-Dong is in danger to fall. If I had needed one turn more, the Northkorean had captured the city. And then a BV would have been very hard, because the own troops are too far away.

This was one of the easiest Scenarios that i have played in my life. In the south the ships could destroy any Units and in Seoul most of the Units could be overrunned. Unfortunately I could not get all flagged hexes in BV-time.

Current Scenario: Advance to Pyongyang; BV-1

This was easy too. I could concentrate my core Units on the left and in the middle, because the aux Units were strong enough to break through in the east. Unfortunately I lost some SP, because I were suprised two times. Stupid mistakes, but until now I can refit all Units and often I have not to use green refits. One of my tanks got the first leader.

There are only 3 things you need to know for this scenario (*):
1) you need to capture only one VH and hold the others (just press <S> hotkey)
2) your units start with 0 Entrenchment bonus (just point your mouse on an aux unit and look in the lower right corner)
3) units, especially infantry, defend better on close terrain like Mountain, Forest and City, because they get Entrenchment bonus (playing experience - and press <L> hotkey for the terrain overlay)

No Suite :dunno


(*) of course there are some more which could be useful, i.e. "don't let units or VHs get surrounded" which extends to "if possible form a line on defendable terrain with several units", but really necessary are just the above 3

Yes, but what would happen if there would be more then ten T 34 with 10/10 in the southwest? You could not conquer the VH so fast. The spotting range is limited. Because of that I was careful and moved slowly forward. Also at the western hexes you do not know which kinds of units are hidden or will come as reinforcements. And if you are too slowly because you are too careful, the AI will get a chance to capture the western VHs and the ones in the northeast is near to fall. If I would have had a look at the scenario in the Suite I would have seen that it is easy to win if you rush into the southwest. I am not so stupid to rush forward, if I do not know how strong the enemy there is :lol

Ok, this one was harder, but I made life akward for myself. I let the half of the troops in the west and the rest stopped the enemies in the east. In the east everything went well, but in the west I lost many SP through support fire. I was stupid and did not use the planes as recons to spot the artilleries :bonk
In the centre I could handle the communists with the aux troops but the in the west at some point it was really hard, because my tanks had suffered heavy losses and the AI attacked out of nowhere constantly. Maybe I was too hasty there.

On a more serious note: i don't want to argue, especially since most of what you say is logical :)
The only thing where i disagree (at least as a general statement) is "people check with Suite". Different players have different playing styles, and while i guess that many play based on what they see ingame and/or more careful, others play based on guesses (or hopes ? ) and/or more aggressive - maybe even restart a scenaro if they made too many mistakes and then naturally exploit the newly gained experience.

Of course, I do not know how many players look into the Suite before starting a scenario. But as a long time PBEM player in PG2 imo many of these players had a look at the scenarios before playing. Yes, cou can handle there some things with experience but I do remember, that some of these players could destroy the half of your army in maybe two turns in some scenarios and for this I think you really need a good planing.
Anyway, as a Let`s Player I need to play like a beginner because restarting a scenario is no option for me, because often I do not have the time and the voice for another try at this day (the 6th scenario was the perfect exmaple. Because of the damage my units got, most of the other players would have reloaded, but I can´t). Maybe this is the reason why I was so carefully and that is why I can say that it is really dangerous in the 3rd scenario to be to slow. Although I have finished the campaign a few days ago, I will say not more to the campaign on this point, but after the last scenario I will do a more extensivly critic.

Current Scenario: Chosin Reservoir; ltbv

This was the first and only scenario in which I could not refit all units. After starting the scenario I saw, that the deploy hexes were limited. I wished that some warning would have been in the briefing, so that I could decide what knd of units I will deploy and therefore refit. This is my first proposal for improvement. This should be mentioned in a no auto refit campaign.
There are not so many enemy units. But they attacked mostly out of nowhere. After I had destroyed all Units in the west, a lonely T-34 arrived there and attacked my artillery which was still standing there :irate
One of the cheap opponent artillery had a lucky shot at one of my tanks :irate
But I gor a BV in last turn and three nice leaders.

Current Scenario: Hungnam Evacuation, BV

Now my units are fully refirtted. This is relative easy. My core units blocked the communists in the North and west and the aux units slowed the Advance of the eastern enemies. Later I sent a small Taskforce composed of my two infantry units and a artillery into the east to capture the VH there. I was really suprised when three infantry Units attacked the artillery out of nowhere. Apparently, the artillery was seen by the nearby town, because no enemy unit in the surroundings would have been able to see it :bonk
The VH in the north I captured without great trouble with my other core Units.

At the beginning I lost some SP. Maybe I was too hasty. At some point I got angry, but as I arrived Seoul there was only little resistance. So I got a BV -3 without great problems.

I just do not like to upgrade the experience of my units. It is ok for me to buy units with experience but I find it boring to increase experience with selling and rebuying units. This is something that I did not like in Forward, Comrade. To prevent upgrading units I will prohibit selling units in scenarios like that in the future.
I prefer to gain all experience myself after buying a unit with a certain experience level.

Watched some more of your Lets' Play videos and i am every time amazed by the sounds, because i never play sound myself. I like the marching South Korean infantry :lol
But i have the impression that combat is a bit laggy (german: es ruckelt)? Is it because the sounds have to be loaded and played? :huh

EDIT: And yes, i too would not betray my soldiers and sell them just for some exp points :lol :lol

I am not sure what you mean. But especially in Aljf I had the Feeling that the infantry Sound was sometimes delayed, especially when I had moved many infantry Units in a short time range.

While watching i also had the impression that sometimes the video/game lags.
Could a problem of running a video recorder. Depending on system ressources, they can lag the games.

It is hard to tell. Everything looks very fast in the videos, like movement of units. But as i said, i have the impression that combat is laggy somehow.
And i thought that it is maybe because of the sounds. The game could be faster, but has to wait for the sounds to be played. But yeah, could also be the combat animatios. I have not really an idea.
As i said, i never ever have played with sound and i just got the impression of lags. Could be everything. Maybe just lags in my head :dunno :lol

Maybe the combats are laggy but i do not notice that because this is how the game run on my computer. Pavel had written one year ago in the raiders forum that he do not like the game, because it always dure one second or more before the combat starts. So there is a possibility that I have the same problem and that it is wrong setting that trigger the lags.
The other option is that OBS triggers the lags. There are anyway some bugs when recording the game like when I am deploying the units. When I played Aljf it was really akward, because in some scenarios the cursor always skipped to a certain deployment area, even I had deployed a unit on the other side of the map before. But this bug do only happen if I had zoomed in. That was one reason why I had to reset the zoom to 100% in some scenarios :(
Another aweful thing is the combat speed if the AI attacks. The game runs often so far, that I do not register where the combat on the map is :lol
Maybe I should try different settings but I often am not up to that.
I have to confess that I did not had a look on many of my OG videos, yet. From the beginning of december until the beginning of januar I had watched a lot of my videos, but I started with the videos with less clicks, so I had only watched two OG videos until now :lol So I cannot say so much about my OG videos. Maybe in march I will look more videos to find more highlights for my third Best of video.

At HQ I bought a recon plane, because this Campaign seems to use this awkward feature that cities and so on block the LOS. Then a normal recon is really useless, because even with attachment his spotting ability is really limited :irate
First I stopped the Chinese in the east and in the middle. Later I started a counteroffensive in the west and captured the two VHs there.

Current Scenario: Spring Offensive 2nd Stage; ltbv

When I played this Scenario I remembered that Parabellum had written that it is possible to win the Scenario very fast. So I tried by myself but I headed to the wrong VH :bonk and my troops were hitten badly by the Chinese counterattack. I restarted the Scenario and played then carefully. The central VH is really low defended. I had the Chance to win the Scenario a few turns before BV, but at that time there were already some map Prestige avaiable and I decided to collect all flags. At the end I got a ltbv. At some Point the twoi more eastern VHs were captured by the Chinese but soon I was able to start a counterattack. I received two more Leaders :cool

Conclusion

This is a really easy Campaign. I needed nearly no reloads or Restarts. Unless one Scenario I could refit all Units. Ok, in the last Scenarios the Liberator tank helped, but I Always Forget it and used the tank mostly in the last Phase of the Scenarios :lol :bonk
Maybe 80% will be more challenging for me, but because of my minor experience in no refit campaigns it was ok so. The many prestige defenitely will help newbies although I doubt that no auto refit campaigns will be a good choice for the first campaign :lol
The only critic is that I wished that in the briefing of scenario 7 there would be a hint that the deployment hexes are very limited.
Besides that the campaign was still fun and it was a good campaign for a Let`s Play because)
1. not so much scenarios
2. many short scenarios, only one scenario dured more than 1 hour
3. very easy, so I did not have to reload and restart (or even cheat) so much. This made sure, that the parts did not get too long, too.

I am not sure, if I have to make the DONE in the thread headline. But Para, you can add it.

Maybe I will make a Let`s Play of our allied campaign. But this will be in the future. I will make further videos of Grandia at the moment and later another PG2 campaign. One of my abonnents asked to make a Let`s Play of a Panzerliga campaign. But Panzerliga use planes with fuel and this is new for me. I do not know if I will like this.
After that I would like to make a career season for an old Formula 1 game and after this I want to make another OG Let`s Play. This will take several months, especially because it seems that I will get more jobs for the newspaper this year and my channel have not full priority. At the moment I have no time to make more videos and I am happy that I had preproduced some videos at my holidays around new year.
