1 Battle of Sesena

First time around my core run the west area while the aux units defended in the east... turns out the west is mostly empty :whine so...
I replayed from turn 3 - the tank turned east while the recon cleared the west with the help of the plane... overrun festival ensued :banana :banana :banana

At HQ I bought another tank, another recon, another arty and 2 infs.

I deployed the best hal of my core in the north and the other half in the south,
The recon and some aux infs crossed the river to clear the west. The planes were used to soften the north path for the :monster to pass faster .
Apart from the units in the west. the artys taken from the air and the initial defense line in the south everithing was added to the :monster toll :banana :banana :banana

i strongly recommend to use the fastest, fully os-ed tanks as a :monster later a flame version of the t-34 will be available with good stats and overrun

3 Khalkhin Gol

At HQ I bought 2 fighters and another inf.
My "NKVD jriend" suspected my CoS of corruption and put him in jail and took "care" of the logistics... :whine :whine :whine
We all got enought Vodka :cool but by turn 4 the battle was a mess - half of my units had no targets in range and the road was cluttered with uniys (most of them in the wrong position)... :whine :whine :whine
Well... "unfortunately" an "enemy bullet" got him (right in the back of his head) :rip so I had to pull my CoS out of jail...

At the second try, I didn deploy anything in the south or out of the road... the 2 tanks, the autorecon, the artys and the motoinf advanced as fasy as they could, the horse units took care of the first mountain. the second tank turned south at the river. All my artys had juicy targets turn after turn and everybody had his fair share of the fun (the only unit that did noy fight for a while was the secong tank till he arrived at his designated combat zone)

Took all the hexes on the map minus the airfield on the corner (does that place even count as "on the map"?).
Got a BV-1 with a level bomber proto :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

4 Battle of Grodno

At HQ I bough the mandatory tac bomber, the second autorecon, another mortar and another inf with motos.

I deployed the :monster then the big arty, the older mortar, the older recon and the older moto inf to run to the center, followed by the horse recon and the older cav.
The green units raced north along the east... but apart from the moto inf and recon they did nothing but move... (to be honest both cav units on the main group did the same...)
The tac bomber and fighters softened or took out the scatered units on the map while the level took care of the AAs on the center...
And then the :monster arrived and with artys planes and auto recon softening it was a overrun festival (not even the winged hussars rushing from the south could stop it)

As soon as the game started the white wizard cast a "Blizzard Tempest of Doom" a enchantment that reads:
"As long as Blizzard Tempest of Doom is in game flying cratures can not attack and all the goblins look stupid"

5 Raate Road

At HQ I upgraded the arty transports...
(I was to do something more but I forgot... and honestly was not needed)

In the first run I advanced cautiously in the bad weather (the "Blizzard Tempest of Doom") scouting around with planes, scouts and infs to securely advance my artys, just to be greeted by the "teleport in the middle of my units and shoot" AI reinforcements (the "Gelid Finn Snowman Rampage")...
I just really "love" that feature... :uzi :uzi :uzi

In the second run I didn advance any units into the combat zone (the "Greater Void of Nothingness"), just clustered them around my artys, and so from turn 4 I could kill a number of units and advance a few hexes each turn (the "Great Magma Melter" on my Goblin)..

Killed everything in sight and got a last turn BV With a "shoot dragons from the sky" proto :banana :banana :banana

The Battje against the SkyNet was very hard...
- a lot of T-800, T-1000 and some air drones :eek :eek :eek
- and the central computer jammed my main combat vehicles :eek :eek :eek

So... I was unable tp win... :whine :whine :whine

And then... I felt like,,,

And got back to my cave and put some ACME turbos on the combat vehicles...
...they are ACME, SkyNet can't even understand how they work...

6 Cyborg Bay (take two)

At HQ I upgraded the best mortars and bough a fighter...
...and after the first fiasco I also had to upgrade the tanks...
(I wanted to stay with the T-26s till the T-34 was available... oh, well...)

I deployed the second tank and the best recon in the north; in the south was the :monster , the 2 big artys and the second recon in the front, one moto inf was deployed to follow the aux inf already at the airfield to the airfield in the north (by air).
One MG, one cav, the other moto jnf and the scout inf with the help of the aux arty took care of the firsy VH across the water and then raced to help the aux arty and inf finish the second.
All the other units were dwployed to follow the tank as fast as they could.

The battle plan was simple.
- The tank raced north, then turned southeast to kill the unis in the middle, then north again to finish the last units not around the western VHs, then east to clear the units around the SH, then south to the VH, and finally west to clear the last units.
- The level bomber was traveling around killing AAs so the other planes could bomb evething in sight.
- The artys advanced behind the tank to provide easy overruns.

The plan was so simple that the SkyNet was unable to screw it...

Took all the hexes and took out every last Cyborg of the SkyNet (even the radio towers were destroyed)

8 Yelnya Offensive

Choice of tactics.

Playing this scenario in a MTC is very different from playing it normally (at least for me).
We have 3 areas to deploy our core - NW, NE and SE...
So the question is WHERE to deploy the :monster ?

And it is a long battle - I shoot 27 times in turn 1 - 26 times in turn 2 - 28 times in turn 3 - 29 times in turn 4 - 29 times in turn 5 - and 17 in turn 6 in the final run (not counting the overruns)...

So my answer was simple - start 3 times simoultaneously :) :) :)

By turn 3 i had made my choice, but found that the best place was SW, the place where I could NOT deploy :irate :irate :irate
The best available choice is the NW sector... and so that was the battle that I finished...

At HQ I sold the 3 temporary road runners, upgraded a tank (not the :monster ) and bougnt a new one, put the recon inf on motos, bought a AD, upgraded 2 fighters and bought a tac bomber...
I deployed the :monster , the best recon, the 2 big artys, a MG and a cav in the NW sector and with the help of the airforce they cut trough the defenders to reach the escape zone and forbid any escapes... the :monster run south to clear the SW area and came back north to the final push in the center.
In the SE area I deployed the second best tank, the 2 other recons and a moto inf... the rest was deployed in the NE sector except for 2 units that had to be deployed from the SH - a moto inf that raced to reinforce the NW sector and the flak that joined the NE group.
Both the NE and the SE groups worked on softening the enemies in front of them and disloging them from the VHs...
Infortunately not many units tried to escape and so both NE and SE groups had a lot of kills to do in the last turns :whine :whine :whine

I killed everythingh east of the EHs for a BV with a tank proto :banana :banana :banana

9 Battle of Moscow

At HQ I uograded the :monster and bought a arty.

I deployed the :monster and the other leadered tank in the north the big artys in the north behind the continuous north-south line of infs. the 2 other tanks were placed along the line to act in an emergency...

The :monster made the complete north-south run, the airfield was taken by the other tank with the help of some infs.
The artys moved north to south one turn ahead of the :monster - the planes did the rest of the softening.

At HQ I upgraded the mortar and the 2 cavs (one to paras, one to eng) and bough 2 new (better) cavs...

After the 2 previous disasters :whine :whine :whine I had at least a reasonable idea of what to do... so I charged like in the second try... but just a little slower... and so I got my no losses run :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

At BV-1... the :monster was too far away from the suport to have any kills in the last turn... so i made the last kills elsewhere

10.5 - I Had a Good Idea

While finishimg my map...

i was trying not to lose too many units on the first AI turn...
...but the best I could get was 5 :rip :rip :rip :rip :rip ( with many units with too few SP to escape in the second turn) :whine :whine :whine

And the LW was a nightmare... :whine :whine :whine and my fighters can not fight before turn 3... :whine :whine :whine so the artys will pay the price... :whine :whine :whine



Then I sent the map... anf while finishing the scenario I had the map made for...

What i really need is rain...

So... I finished the last scenario till i got a rain turn to start... but I also had to get the proper proto... :thud

:huh I don't know how you play, but without losses of aux units it won't work. Why are the losses zero?

I have a request: Is it possible for you to publish your AARs with the status at the end of the scenario so that everyone can see how much experience the units have gained and what strength they still have at the end of the scenario? The AAR at the beginning of a scenario are not helpful for this - all units have 10/10 strength again and the newly gained experience can only be determined arithmetically. Thanks in advance.

It's been a long time since I read your aar's at JP. However, I have obviously misinterpreted your announcement to play without losses on every CC. My goal is also to play without losses, but that only affects the core units and not the aux units.
OK, I always thought that I was a little crazy about Open General because, after work in the office, I also play at home between 3 and 5 hours per day, but you exponentiate the craziness ... :cheers

Also I got a new proto... I found that it was too much so i reloaded, and got a proto... and i reloaded, and got a proto...
I tested it - out of 20 tries I got protos 13 times - 2nd battle after the last one should be 40% chance - or is my memory wrong?
In the end I stayed with a proto I could not refuse... :sh

At HQ I bough a new recon, a proper AT and a second LB.

The goal was to pass rapidly - the artys shooting at anything in the way (with the planes help) for the :monster to finish

The other units in the main group were used to take out any unit not in the path but close enought to pose a problem

And about my no losses run...

In the Battle of Voronezh you are provided whit a continuous line of infs - with only one standing out (at 5,24 in front of the Hungaryans) - and 12 or so artys to defend.

Here you have a cav in front in the open and 3 openings in the line (one at 10,26 to 14,26 another at 27,29 to 30,29 and the east end of the line is open) - and 8 artys (+ 2 mortars).

And here the capacity to reinforce the line with your core early is very reduced - And the AI has less infs to block the advance of ATs and tanks - so I will try my best but I believe that my no losses run ends here...

I was right - I lost only 2 units :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana - the inf in column 5/6 and the flak in front of the train arty...
But at the end of turn 4 I believe I will not lose any more units - the 4 1SP aux infs are completely out of the way of the AI...

13 Third Battle of Kharkov

At HQ I upgraded the MGs to SPATs and bought a SPArty.

At first I deployed my 3 best artys in the closest possible way to the front - turns out that in any permutation the arty on the right side of the map was of little to no use...

So I deployed the 2 big artys in the center and the :monster in the right and waited for the impact...
Having snow turns to start helped - the German artys did much more damage when it turned Overcast...
I was lucky - when I got a good AI first turn (only one inf lost :rip - the flak was lost at turn 3 after it took the first blood of the German fighter :rip ), the cav in front survived at 7 SP (it was attacked several times losing few SP and being completely supressed - so it retreated into my line :banana :banana :banana )
At first I tried to contain the AI advance... but I found it best to let the fast AI units pass towards the rear VHs - that way the units at the front didn had to deal with them all - and that was a task for the units coming from the rear - I even lost one VH at the rear at some point :eek :eek :eek
The :monster did the complete front starting at the right side and ending at the left VH/SH taking out the new units the AI put there.
I ended up taking all the units and all the VHs from the Germans...
