I deployed the leader Tank and Mountain Inf in the north and the rest down south. After capturing the northern and southern ports I crossed the leader Tank and Recon with it's new Lib leader over to collect $$ as my planes showed all the defending units around the VHs, apart from Artys, to be entrenched Infs so they would be mostly useless. Basically it was a slow creep south and north moving Infs up followed closely by the Artys, aux Infs would hit first and take the damage then my core Infs did the glory hit for the capture. A comfortable last turn BV and a Level Bomber proto :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana :banana

I concentrated on clearing the west side of the river with the core while the Aux units were grouped together to defend the VHs on the east side. Once all was clear on the west side we crossed over to retake the 2 VHs lost to the enemy and capture the remaining couple. The final VH in the north-east was cleared by air first then the Recon was able to sneak through the mass of ADs the AI kept buying and snatch the flag for a last turn, last move BV :phew

Distance was the main enemy here as the map was basically deserted until we reached the middle area. The Paras flew to the VH in the south-west, landed and captured it over a 3 turn battle then sat tight for the duration. The leader Recon, an Inf and a Tank headed due north from the deploy zone and took the flags on the east side of the map before eventually arriving at the border where they found a barbed wire unit with an insanely high SP so they spent the remainder of the battle attacking it over and over for Exp :lol The leader Recon deviated from the main advance to take a couple of flags and airfield to the north-west of the deploy zone and ended up linking back with the core near the end. The main core made a group advance to the central VH area and spent a number of turns battling for them, the leader Tank went absolutely nuts with over-runs and with the nearby airfield to resupply at the planes had a lot of fun as well. Finally the VHs were all cleared and all but one captured then 3 units found another high SP wire and spent the last few turns gaining Exp on it until the last turn for BV when we took the last VH for the win.

I placed my fastest units in front and flew the Paras to beside the EH. The Paras landed and started to attack the enemy Arty beside EH while the rest of the core made their way along the road. About 1/2 way to the EH I hadn't encountered any enemies and it seemed I still had ample turns left so I paused to let the slower units catch up.....which was when the enemy suddenly materialized out of the trees from all directions :eek :eek :eek :eek fortunately the Artys were in the center of the group and were able to help old off the attackers. Once things died down we continued along the road and around a couple of road blocks and safely left the field of battle for the BV :phew

A general advance on a wide front right across the map was the strategy needed here. The All Weather Planes proved their worth here with rain or snow almost every turn. The 2 Para units flew to the north-west VH, landed and took it before clearing some nearby enemies then moving north to take the SH. In the end a last turn but problem free BV.
